Contemporary Ethical Considerations for Providers of Transgender Health Care

New Publication Exploring Ethics in Transgender Health Care

Transgender healthcare ethics are a vital consideration in the provision of compassionate and competent care. My latest manuscript articulates the application of principlism—an ethical framework built on autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice—to guide clinicians in their practice. It addresses real-world dilemmas such as informed consent and the balance between patient autonomy and clinical guidance, especially in the context of gender-affirming interventions. As the field progresses, we emphasize the importance of ongoing ethical reflection and adaptation to ensure healthcare that is not only effective but also deeply respectful of individual identities.
