Podcast Interview: Hormone Therapy & Reductions in Suicidality

QueerCME Podcast

I recently joined the QueerCME podcast as a guest to discuss my extended study published in The Journal of Pediatrics examining changes in suicidality among 432 transgender and gender-diverse adolescents and young adults following initiation of hormone therapy. Over approximately two years of follow-up (average duration), we found significant reductions in suicidality: findings consistent across age groups and sex assigned at birth.

In the episode, we discussed the study’s design and results, clinical implications, nuance, and what the growing evidence base for gender care.
